What a great list, Lanita. Thanks for compiling it; some of these are a little old for where my kids are at but I will be bookmarking this page for future reference!

Have a great week!

I didn't think to include books that they had read when they were younger. They liked the Little House on the Prairie original series, not the "modern" version. The Janette Oke books about animals is kind of fun, they are character builder books. There is a series called Spiritual Armor, with titles such as, Buckle Up! the belt of truth; Take the Heat, the breastplate of righteousness; Dig In!, the shoes of peace; Take Cover!, the shield of faith; Keep Your Head!, the helmet of salvation; and On Guard! the sword of the spirit. They were written by Rebecca Cochrane and published by God's World Publications. They also enjoyed The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, many of the Max Lucado books for children, America, a patriotic primer by Lynne Cheney, a devotional called, Giant Steps for the little people by Kenneth N. Taylor, a coloring book about Proverbs 31, called A Young Lady of Valor by Doorposts, they also enjoyed the Amelia Bedelia books.
