The Federal Fat Police: Bill Would Require Government to Track Body Mass of American Children

"A bill introduced this month in Congress would put the federal and state governments in the business of tracking how fat, or skinny, American children are."

When are they going to quit. This is the United States of America. It is none of their business how fat or skinny ANYONE is. They need to stick to protecting our country.

I recently read an article in which a county in CA is banning Happy Meal Toys because they feel the toys promote childhood obesity. They believe the only reason a child chooses that kind of food is because of the toy itself. The ban requires that for a toy to be included in a kids meal, that the meal meet certain calorie, calorie to fat ratios, and total fat requirements. The author of the article took those same figures to the average school lunches in the county and found school lunches did not meet the 'healthy standard' criteria...

These are just both examples of government applying the wrong solution to the problem!

My concern with this, is that while right now, it is all 'elective' and 'as you regularly schedule dr appointments' with government health care and the UN rights of the child, that it will eventually be required.
