Read the words to this beautiful hymn. They are so powerful and full of promise. We have read the end of the book and KNOW what the out come will be! Let us do our part to spread the gospel so God's family will grow and more will join us in our song of victory!
Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before. Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe; forward into battle, ssee, His banners go!
At the sign of triumph Satan's host doth flee; on, then, Christian soldiers, on to victory! Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise; Christians, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise!
Like a mighty army moves the Church of God. Christians, we are treading where the saints have trod. We are not divided; all one body we: one in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane; but the Church of Jesus constant will remain. Gates of hell can never 'gainst that church prevail; we have Christ's own promise, which can never fail.
Onward, then, ye people! Join our happy throng; blend with ours your voices in the triumph song. Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ, the King: this thro' countless ages men and angels sing.

Thanks for posting the well-known hymn, "Onward Christian Soldiers." (This is actually the anniversary of its publication in 1864.)
It's interesting that the author later tried to change the line "We are not divided," realizing that there are divisions in the church. His altered version never caught on, but you can read it on my Wordwise Hymns blog for today.
