holy experience

111. memories of our children’s childhood (we have been watching old home movies)

112. memories from our own childhoods (again, we have been watching “OLD” home movies)

113. parents who made memories with their children and saved those memories for posterity

114. listening to my daughters fervently memorizing God’s Word

115. rain that just keeps coming, so we don’t need to water our garden or yard

116. the freedom to worship

117. memories of those who willingly gave their lives so we could live in a free country

118. the freedom to speak our minds

119. a God who meets our needs and sometimes supplies our wants, as well

120. memories of the sacrifice our Saviour made for us

Psalm 119:9-16

 9How can a young man keep his way pure?
   By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you;
   let me not wander from your commandments!
11I have stored up your word in my heart,
   that I might not sin against you.
12Blessed are you, O LORD;
    teach me your statutes!
13With my lips I declare
   all the rules of your mouth.
14In the way of your testimonies I delight
   as much as in all riches.
15I will meditate on your precepts
   and fix my eyes on you ways.
16I will delight in your statutes;
   I will not forget your word.

Are You a History Maker?

Psalm 127

Unless the LORD builds the house,
         They labor in vain who build it;
         Unless the LORD guards the city,
         The watchman keeps awake in vain.
    It is vain for you to rise up early,
         To retire late,
         To eat the bread of painful labors;
         For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
    Behold, children are a gift of the LORD,
         The fruit of the womb is a reward.
    Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
         So are the children of one's youth.
    How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
         They will not be ashamed
         When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Wisdom of the Word Wednesday

"But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth." 1 John 3:17-18

With the world like it is now, these verses should really resonate with believers. If we have ANYTHING that could be used by others we should not hesitate to give to others who are in need. God will bring people across our paths who have needs that we can meet, if we are aware of the needs and do not meet them, can we truly call ourselves a believer? So many people say, they are a Christian, but do their fruits bear them out? Doing things for others does not make us a Christian, but because we are a Christian we should want to do for others. Everything we have is a gift from God, so why wouldn't we want to share what God has blessed us with, with others?

Take a look around you, is there a need that you are aware of that you can help with. If there is, don't hesitate to bless someone with what God has blessed you with. Don't hoard your blessings, give freely and you will be blessed, as well as those who you share with. Also, don't forget that blessings come in MANY forms, not just material things or money. You can share your time, talents, "ears", you name it.
